Poké Poké
A restaurant ordering product built around an interactive bowl builder that let customers construct their poke ingredient by ingredient.

Interactive bowl builder
Customers could build their poke visually, ingredient by ingredient, instead of working through a conventional list of modifiers. The bowl updated as ingredients were selected, turning customization into part of the product experience itself.

Context
Poké Poké was a real restaurant business I founded and operated in Chișinău. The website was not simply a restaurant brochure or menu. A major part of the digital product was an interactive Build Your Own Bowl experience where customers constructed their poke ingredient by ingredient. For a local restaurant at the time, the configurator was unusually ambitious. Instead of using a conventional list of modifiers or checkboxes, customization was designed as a visual product experience.
Approach
Treat the website as part of the operating restaurant rather than a marketing brochure. The main product challenge was making a highly customizable meal simple enough for first-time customers while still giving people meaningful control. Food and menu discovery should feel immediate, while the bowl builder should be presented as one of the central product journeys.
Decisions
- Make Build Your Own Bowl a primary action.
- Present ingredient selection visually rather than as a generic modifier form.
- Let customers construct the meal step by step.
- Keep complex customization understandable.
- Keep delivery, pricing and ordering information close to purchase intent.
- Use strong food imagery without letting branding interfere with conversion.
